Flood Plains

Flood Plains are patches of land that are located next to water courses (streams and rivers) and are often submerged in water.  Many flood plains have been developed in recent decades, leading to areas of the UK where housing is at a high risk from flood. 

The Environment Agency provide flood maps of the UK so that residents and businesses effected by flood can see their risk level.
